Q: Why do I have to transfer my website? What does web site migration include?
A: If your current hosting provider can no longer fulfill the needs of your website, or if you suffer from continual downtime, or if you have to wait for hours for the support staff to respond to you, it may be a clever idea to switch your hosting provider, i.e. to move all the files for your sites together with your databases from your present provider to your future provider. At Technofree Technology, we realize that this can often be hard and time–consuming. Because of this, we’ll do all that for you for free!Our highly proficient technical staff members will migrate your site content from your present provider to us. Our technicians have a lot of experience with web site migration and are able to handle everything – from a conventional WordPress blog or Joomla™–based site, to a very elaborate, custom–made app.

Q: Just how long will the web site migration process take?
A: There are many factors to consider – the overall number of files, the size of the database, the complexity of the site itself and the current workload of our web site migration professionals, etc. Still, we do our best to accomplish all website migrations within a 48–hour period. Smaller sites are migrated much faster – typically within 24 hours.

Q: My personal privacy concerns me. What information do you need to have?
A: We’ll require the login information for your old hosting provider’s Control Panel along with the website’s name (domain name).

Q: I give you access to sensitive info. How can I be sure that you won’t misuse it?
A: Customer privacy is one of our prime responsibilities – that is why, both our payment page and our CP login page are secured with enterprise–grade digital certificates. We use security measures, which include, but are not limited to: physical, digital and administrative operations to protect the data that we collect online. And we have a very detailed and rigid Privacy Policy, which outlines the types of information that we gather.

Q: Will my web site be unavailable during the migration?
A: While we migrate your website, it will be available both in your web hosting account with us and in your account with your former hosting provider. When the migration is finished, we will make sure that everything is working properly and that the integrity of your content is not compromised prior to informing you that the migration is complete. Then we will instruct you how to move the domain name to your web hosting account with us and how to modify the DNS resource records.

Q: Will my current web hosting provider know that I am leaving them?
A: While we move your website content, your hosting provider won’t be aware of the transfer at all. We will not touch base with them in any way.

Q: Which hosting platforms do you support?
A: Yup. We support all regular Linux–driven hosting platforms. We do not support Windows–driven web hosting platforms, because we don’t offer Windows hosting services ourselves.In addition, we do not support proprietary website creation and administration tools like Wix, BaseKit, Jimdo, Website Tonight, Four Square, Mr Site, etc.
